Part countryside auberge, part modern chic villa, the intimate Casa Thymus is appointed with exceptional traditional wood and stone solutions, while still conveys the easy charm of a relaxed wayside getaway. Rustic hardwoods, exposed stone walls and shingle-style roof are paired with the beautiful swimming pool and design items. Inspiring, four-season views of Soveja are paired with the vernacular architecture of the villa.

🚗 How to reach us

Casa Thymus is located in the Vrancea Mountains Nature Reserve. It can be easily accessed only by car, on paved roads, in very good condition, via DN2L.

Two traditional chic villas that offer a superb haven for everyone who likes to take a break from daily worries and simply revel in the comfort of living in the midst of a scenic Soveja landscape. It will be there when you wake up, when you treat yourself to the best from the local environment, and when you cool off in the swimming pool.

The apartment has its own bathroom, and the two bedrooms on the ground floor share the same bathroom.

As you enter, you’ll be captivated by the spirit of nostalgia flirting with modern comfort. And all with an outdoor swimming pool, from which you can enjoy the view of the hills around and the village of Soveja.

Gastronomy

At Casa Thymus we cook for all tastes, with fresh products and seasonal ingredients: soups in a cauldron or on low heat, home-made steak, baked fish, mutton on a spit, pies with wild mushrooms or cheese, pizza made by us on place and bake in the oven with wood, traditional donuts and pies, homemade cakes and pies, fir buds syrup ripened in honey, sugar-free plum jam, berry jams.

From our vineyard, we offer wine tastings in our special cellar carved into the hill.

Activities

Spending time in Soveja is like stepping into the good old days. Here you can experience rural “chic” in a different, cosier way. Visit farms and homesteads where you’ll enjoy the idyllic daily life of a farm and have also refreshing moments in the swimming pool at the same time.

Travelers to Casa Thymus can choose from an incredible variety of activities available depending on the season and weather: horseback riding, carriage rides or traditional horse-drawn sleigh rides, mountain fishing parties, themed hikes to picking herbs, mushrooms, berries or bitter cherries.

There are also possible tours to observe or photograph flora and fauna, bike trails and hiking on marked trails. The longest hike on a marked trail is the hike to Zboina Neagra (5h).

For children we offer mini-trips on our own farm where they can see hens, horses, pigs and cows.

Tastefully furnished, everything new, large, bright rooms, fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning. The very kind owner, available at any time, even helped us with the crib for our baby. Large courtyard, BBQ area, swimming pool, table tennis. Well positioned, children's playground within walking distance, well-stocked shop "La doi pasi", at 400 m. Very good value for money. We felt great, so we'll be back. Greetings to the management and staff!”
